A short while ago Enrique Pons was looking for charitable companies to be a part of his scheme: building motorized wheelchairs from adapted Segway frames, for people who are financially less able to buy a motorized Segway Wheelchair on the market. This project is revolutionary for those people who cannot move a wheelchair with their hands. Oc3an.com was approached about this project by Enrique Pons himself and immediately wanted to get involved with donating not just parts for the wheelchairs, but also involvement on an emotional level, whereby the engineers that head up oc3an.com give support with their knowledge and expertise of the latest equipment that will help the project continue.

The project is called Segway Adaptado started by Enrique Pons. Enrique was an engineer in the aeronautical industry shortly before becoming a pilot, with a passion for creating and innovating. One day, Enrique he had the idea that he wanted to sit in a Segway, so he put a stool onto a Segway, and as he did this, it occurred to him that something like this would be useful as wheelchairs. And so the idea was born.

Enrique wanted to help give back to people who were less privileged than himself and who had not been given the same opportunities, so after some trials, he launched the first model of Segway Adaptado.

Enrique has built this idea himself and travels to fairs throughout Spain exhibiting his wheelchairs and providing support to those who are less fortunate and less able.

It is a fantastic project, which is receiving excellent feedback from clients and the community alike.
